FORMAT NOTES: LS = Live Longshot, BAL = Bombs Away Longshot, SL = Sharp List.  This means the horse was on my personal list of horses to watch. SP = System Play (this is based on a simple system that is in my Trotpicks Book. It is not a complete handicapping method (although there is one in the book). SP is just a simple set of rules that makes any play much stronger. 

Below are the picks exactly as they appeared for Tuesday, Feb 14. All 3 picks won at $11.40, $6.00 and $3.40 and I had the exacta in each race. 

RACE 7

Pretty competitive race but OBJECT OF ART is the class of the field. Last start he dropped to this level but tried to quarter move and got parked out forcing a fast pace; another shot.

RACE 11

SHADOWS DREAM faced tougher at Yonkers, was third over in local debut, followed cover three wide around the final bend and finished strongly for the show; drops, picks up Brett Miller...PURE DEFIANCY was first over and tired badly in last but drops to level that he won at three starts back and gets a key driver change to Palone...AK'S LIVIN LARGE set a hot clip under pressure and held the place in a game effort last start; steps up...SIGN OF AQUARIUS drops off a race he may have needed after a sick scratch.

RACE 8

CROWN HEIGHTS set a fast pace under pressure and finished third losing by a head against a tougher field than this at this level; gets a nice spot in the 2nd tier and should be able to brush to the lead and take off. The rest of the field is hard to gauge.

One pick Saturday night (Feb. 4), a nice 5-1 Best Bet winner that keyed a good paying $92.00 exacta. 

Thursday, February 2

One spot play last night and it turned out to be a good one, a trifecta key horse that won and keyed a whopping $672.20 trifecta, excellent price for a 2-1 shot on top. Note that I made Take A Walk 8-5 on my line (she was 9-2 on the ML) with a big spread to the next ranked odds of 5-1, an indication that I felt she was potentially much the best. One of the ways that you can make betting decisions when looking at my picks is by looking at my odds line. 

Wednesday, December 28

Nice one last night, one pick and it won and paid $26.00. Note that I made the horse 5-1 on my line. 

RACE 4

S F STAMPEDE returned off a freshening and had post 7, rocketed out of the gate and was 3 deep around the first turn, took the lead at the quarter in :27.1, set a blazing pace and tired badly and excusably; moves inside for 2nd start off the bench and may go all the way...KOLLATERAL DAMAGE takes a key drop to the bottom condition, gets a better post and a top driver; one to beat...TEEN TURO rarely wins but he closed well with leading driver Dan Noble in last...MISTER MICAH showed nothing in last but he may have needed the start off the layoff and takes a key drop.

Monday, December 19

Very good start of the week. After going one for one on Sunday, came back with three for three on Monday, four winners in a row. In two of the races I had the trifecta including the 7th at The Meadows, a COLD trifecta (see results below). Remember that you can sign up for only $25.00 for two months or get a tremendous value and sign up for the first 6 months of the year for only $60.00 (click on Trotpicks page). 

RACE 7

FRONTIER left and yielded and was shuffled into the lane losing valuable position, finished evenly once clear; two back was a sharp placing from post 7. Gets a key driver change to Brett Miller and may go all the way...CAPTAIN GREG has won 6 in a row and steps up off a claim by a live barn while luring Dave Palone off a Burke horse...M A ROY was first over and just missed against similar; hard to knock...LENNY K ran down similar in last but loses Brett Miller to top pick and moves outside.

Sunday, December 18

Trotpicks had one pick Sunday, a nice $9.80 winner at Dover Downs. 

RACE 9

BATTLESHIP KELLY showed speed from post 8 and lost by less than a length in first start over the track after shipping in from Chester; gets better post in the 2nd tier and may upset...RUSS'S ZTAM ahs won 3 in a row and looms the one to catch.

Tuesday, November 29

I had one pick one pick on Tuesday, a nice $13.80 Best Bet and COLD $23.60 exacta.

Friday, November 4

One pick on Friday and a nice cold $17.80 exacta and the 4-3-9 trifecta paid $64.40. 

RACE 5

SAN ANTONY-O went evenly from post 6 in a much faster field; speedy sort drops, gets good spot...YANKEE DEVIL finished 2nd to classy Giddy Up Delight in last and two back he chased classy Delivered From Zin; he's 0 for 22 this year but takes a key drop here and is a threat...THEBESTOFJOEL makes third start for the Burke barn, drops and can improve...IDEAL CHOICE showed improved speed in last, steps up and picks up leading driver.

Thursday, October 20

Hot streak continues. I gave out two horses Thursday, one won and paid $8.40 (Orphan Annie at Yonkers).

ORPHAN ANNIE had a tough trip in last at Mohawk; ships back in and faces weaker, upset call.

Wednesday, October 19

I gave out two horses Wednesday and they both won, capped of by COLD Exacta/Trifecta at Chester (see below). Still hot. 

RACE 5

JOYFULJOY N showed speed leaving but was shuffled out of contention behind a tiring horse as the beaten favorite; drops, draws inside of main rivals...PERFECT M FOREVER had post 8 in last at Harrington, ships in for good barn and drops out of the Open...MID-WESTERN JATELO drops for top connections...MS MALICOUS 3yo filly faces older here but she's been racing well.

Sunday, October 16

Hot streak continues. One pick Sunday, Hands To Yourself won by 3 lengths and paid $8.20 and Trotpicks had the cold $23.00 Exacta.

HANDS TO YOURSELF chased a hot pace in the slop at Pocono Downs in last; drops, picks up top driver.

Saturday, October 15

Big Saturday night last night, Saturday, Oct. 15. I gave out 4 picks, one was scratched, which left the three listed below, which all won. Pacific Desperado won easily and paid $4.40. Shotgun A won easily and and paid $9.20 and the 5-3 exacta paid $33.00, Tyler Palko won and paid $19.00 and I had the $72.20 exacta COLD.

TYLER PALKO gets a key driver change in a "Battle of Pa. Driving Challenge" race and should be closing off a wicked pace; upset call in a wide open race...GRINNING BREED steps up off a powerful wire to wire win...LIFES TRICKS comes off a gusty narrow miss after making two moves to the lead...DELIVERED FROM ZIN showed a return to form in last and classy horse paced in 1:48.4 at Pompano earlier this year; he has 39 wins in only 91 career starts.

I had two picks last night and a nice hit at Balmoral with a $9.80 winner, a cold $47.60 exacta, a $147.00 trifecta, and an $874.20 superfecta.

POLARIS N was used hard three deep to the lead in :26 from post 6 in last; takes a key drop tonight...MAJOR MONET dropped to this level in last and raced okay...BLUERIDGEVALENTINO steps up off three crushing wins in claiming races; peaking 4yo gets class test...UNITY ROAD one-paced sort is a strong finisher and in good form, hard to eliminate for 20% driver.
